This is my definition of the two above-mentioned phrases. Well at least this is me at this age, and what I could quench out of my life experience is this.
When you let go it means you've admit the fact that you and your past, your failures, your ex(es) or whatever in your past are no longer part of you in the present. You take the hurt, and left it there and you walk forward. You accept that there's a reason he/she doesn't make it to your future. You accept that your failure in the past happened for a reason and only for a season, and on top of it there's always a lesson. (Wew, that triple-rhymed, I'm good, haha) But letting go doesn't necessarily mean you've moved on. The way I see it, it's another phase to go to. When you have forgiven the people and the mistake from your past, yes, you've let go. Letting go is on the state-of-the-heart level. While moving on is the act of having that courage to dream again, to move forward in your life. Maybe not necessarily starting a new relationship, or right on to the next business plan with a new partner, but taking the initiatives toward that. No, don't shut yourself from social life. Go out. No, don't close yourself from opportunities. No, don't hide from your dream.Ring any bell? Well, not to worry though. This is not to condemn you, this suppose to let you know that you’re halfway there. This is the best part. You don't want to miss this. You’ve step forward, but there’s a couple more step before you finally cross from ‘just okay’ to ‘great’. And to the truth this might even be harder than letting go, but there’s a reason why the enemy – the hesitation inside you – is fighting so hard, it’s because victory is within reach. You’re _____ close to what Barney Stinson call “awesomeness”. Take that leap. Dare yourself to try again, to open again, to love again but don’t forget to carry along the previous lessons with you.
I’m halfway as well. I’ll see you at the other side. =)
Smile on, Shine on!
